2017 Philadelphia & Gettysburg Talented and Gifted Field Trip

Highland County’s Talented & Gifted (TAG) students recently experienced Philadelphia, Valley Forge and Gettysburg, PA on their annual TAG field trip.  The 46 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th graders and 6 chaperones toured Philadelphia with stops at Carpenters’ Hall, the Liberty Bell, Franklin Court, Independence Hall, the National Constitution Center, Betsy Ross House, the Benjamin Franklin Museum, Elfreth’s Alley, the Franklin Institute of Science and The B. Free Franklin Post Office  Other highlights of the trip included an educational program entitled, “A Soldier’s Life”, as well as guided tours of Valley Forge National Park and Gettysburg Military Park.

Students attending from Fairfield Local Schools were Caleb Vidourek, Halle Hamilton, Noah Allering, Rilee Storts, Kylie Fauber, Nayomie Ludwick, Braxton Harrison, Cody Ayers, Brayden Zimmerman, Makenna Colwell, Kylie Heizer, Laci Muhlenkamp, Caiden Fauber, Grace Matthews and Bella Warner. 

Students from Hillsboro City Schools were Zackery Carter, Nicholas Turner, Evan Fender, Abigail Koogler, William Hart, Kyah Chaney, Garen Ryan, Eden Edenfield, Madalyn Ross, Jacob Smith, Scott Maginnis, Nathan Powell, Duncan Pickering-Polstra, Elena Pickering-Polstra, Travis Ross, Julie Benkiel, Sophie Snively, Jackson Wagoner, Aiden McGinnis and Cain Stone.

Bright Local School District was represented by Chandra Hill, Connor Butler, Evan DeAtley, Annie Wilmoth, and Madison Knox.

Lynchburg-Clay students included Ryan Baker, Jenna Waits, Ryan Mau, Landon Wolfe, Ethan Griffin and Konner Miller.

Chaperones for the trip were Mrs. Megan Wagoner, Mrs. Michelle Ryan, Mrs. Tonia Armstrong, Mr. Mark Holmes, Mrs. Joni Minton and Mr. Jason Ayers.  The trip was coordinated and chaperoned by Kimberly Douglas, Coordinator of Gifted Services for Highland County, in conjunction with Lisa Pfouts of Eagle Rock Tours of Fredricktown, Ohio.
