2017-2018 Southern Ohio ESC Gifted Academy

Did you know the Ohio Department of Education has recently revised the Operating Standards for Identifying and Serving Students Who Are Gifted (OAC 3301-51-15)?  Effective July 1, 2017, general education teachers who are designated as providers of gifted services this year must receive 30 hours of specialized training in gifted education during the 2017-2018 school year.  Through hands-on, innovative workshops, the Southern Ohio ESC Gifted Academy will provide K-12 general education teachers with specialized training in the competencies outlined in the new standards. You will also receive 6 contact hours for trying workshop strategies in your classroom throughout the year.  Participants who complete the four-part workshop series and report on the gifted strategies that they are implementing will earn the required 30 contact hours.
