Master Teacher Consortium

The Southern Ohio Educational Service Center and twelve local school districts have joined to form the SOESC Master Teacher Consortium.
The Consortium is comprised of one representative from each school district, the majority of whom are classroom teachers.  The Consortium is governed by Ohio’s Sunshine Law.

The Consortium representatives are the district-level contacts responsible for communicating the Master Teacher process to district teachers and providing guidance as needed. The Consortium is also responsible for scoring portfolios submitted for Master Teacher designation. The Consortium is divided into five criterion groups with two scorers per criterion who will use the Ohio Educator Standards Scoring Rubric to rate narratives with names replaced by identification letters.  Scorers who have strongly disagreeing scores will defer to a third reader, a member of the Executive Committee (Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, or Secretary).   The Consortium will continue to work closely with the Ohio Department of Education.
