Dennis Mount receives award for 25 years of board member service.

Dennis Mount and Ron Diver

Mr. Dennis Mount has been a board member for 25 years. The Ohio School Board Association recently recgonized board
members meeting milestones at the Capital Conference in Columbus, Ohio in mid November 2018. Dennis was unable to
attend the recognition ceremony so the Ohio School Board Association made arrangements for Mr. Ron Diver, OSBA SW
Regional Director, to present at the January 2019 Southern Ohio Educational Service Center Board Meeting.
In addition to serving on the board Mr. Mount is married to his wife Colleen, his school sweetheart. Together they have
three children Rachel, Robin and Eric and eight grandchildren.
He started off at the Highland County ESC for 3 years, prior to the merger. (Volunteered to fill in for 6 months, while a
board member was taking cancer treatments). When it was time to RUN for the position he got 580 signatures when only
50 was required. The clerk of courts accidentally wrote down 500, instead of 50for the signature requirement. So, he met
A LOT of people at Shaffer Park baseball field that summer.
Mr. Mount’s hobbies include rehabbing houses and anything that has to do with “building”. This includes “building
character” also. Dennis has taught Bible Class for 35 years at Pearl St. Church of Christ, Lynchburg, and Life Skills Class
and Bible Study at Clinton County Jail (8 years). He currently teaches “Recovery Through Christ” addiction recovery
program. Dennis took a 10 day Holy Lands trip to Israel, in 2017..., (and his luggage joined him on the 10th day).
He holds a B.S.Business Management from Harding College, Searcy Arkansas. Dennis worked as Personnel Manager
(Human Resources), Fluor Daniel Construction, hired around 3,500 employees in 8 years: Cincinnati, OH, Chillicothe,
OH, Emporia, Kansas ; Albany, GA. He currently works at Lehigh Hanson.

Congratulations Mr. Mount! We are fortunate to have you on our board.
