Southern Ohio ESC Flipbook of Professional Learning Professional Learning Opportunities Flipbook

Professional Learning Opportunites for the 2018-2019 school year offered by the Southern Ohio ESC.

The December 4th Legal Update Session is presented by the Brown County ESC and the Southern Ohio ESC and will be held at R14 Hopewell Center. Brown County ESC Logo

Tuesday, December 4th will be Southern Ohio ESC’s next Legal Update Session.

 

Representatives from Ennis Britton Co., LPA will be at the Region 14/Hopewell Center  from 9-11:30am to present on current Legal Topics that are of interest to district administration, including:

·         Clarification on Special Education teachers & HQT

·         Recess Supervision Liability

·         Specific Learning Disability

·         Graduation Requirements (exemptions)

·         Speech caseload vs. workload legal topics (ethics)

·         Sick leave and showing up on the premises during school hours to visit or do light work

·         Current legal updates

Dan Roberts and Harry Snyder receive Outstanding Leadership Awards for Community Service OESCA Award Ceremony

Dan Roberts has spent countless hours with the SOESC Leadership Cabinet developing a strategic plan including vision and mission statements as well as goals and strategies to grow the organization. Dan has also provided intense leadership development for the individuals on the Leadership Cabinet. 

Harry Snyder has provided ongoing support of Southern Ohio ESC. The partnership with Great Oaks provides safe and efficient housing to the ESC main offices and meeting rooms. Most recently, Harry led the charge to provide the renovation of a large lab into a conference room to enable the ESC to host Professional Development and meetings. 

Dan Roberts and Harry Snyder both have contributed resources to help the Southern Ohio ESC grow. Although their efforts were unique, Dan's through development of a strategic plan process, and leadership development and Harry's providing and repurposing space for our offices these two individuals have impacted the efficiency and effectiveness of Southern Ohio ESC. 

Clinton-Massie Local School Board of Education, Voted Unanimously to Hire Carrie Bir as next Treasurer Carrie Bir, CM Treasurer

Clarksville, OH - The Clinton-Massie Local Board of Education has selected Mrs. Carrie Bir to serve as their next treasurer effective January 1, 2019. She will begin working alongside current Treasurer, Tracy Parker, on September 10, 2018. This time serving as the Assistant to the Treasurer will ensure a smooth transition in the fiscal department.
