Highland County’s Talented & Gifted (TAG) students recently experienced our Nation’s capital on their annual TAG field trip. The forty-six 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th graders and 7 chaperones toured Washington D.C. with stops at the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, the Korean War Memorial, Ford’s Theater, the White House, the Jefferson Memorial, the World War II Memorial, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, the U.S. Marine (Iwo Jima) Memorial, the U.S. Air Force Memorial, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, George Washington’s Mt. Vernon Plantation, Arlington National Cemetery, the American History Smithsonian Institute, and the United States Capitol.
Students attending from Fairfield Local Schools were Chase Newman, Caiden Fauber, Hannah Hamilton, Maxine Ludwick, Corey Zimmerman, Logan McIntosh, Mya McIntosh, Noah Allering, Caleb Vidourek, Garrett Rhodes, Ethan Estes, Campbell Anne Friend, Elijah Humphreys, Abbygail Riley and Lillyan Bradley.
Bright Local School District was represented by Claire Ames, Tyler Wessner, Weston Blair, Marley Gobin, Brianna Hill, Dalton Vance, and Molly McMullen.
Lynchburg-Clay students were Eric Zaremba, Joslyn Rockey, Holden Ellis, Layne Ellils, Wyatt Kidwell, Allie Waits and Denver Clinton.
Students from Hillsboro City Schools were Garen Ryan, Peyton Aber, Kiara Crafton, Michael Koogler, Marah Roush, Dylan Barton, Justin Gillespie, Kallie Sharp, Carter Boyd, Ryan Fender, Dalayna Collins, Raylee Barnett, Favian Martinez-Mendez, Brianna Bowen, Skylar Carson, Chelsea Adray and Corbin Winkle.
Chaperones for the trip were Mrs. Michelle Ryan, Mrs. Janelle Rockey, Mrs. Tammy Zimmerman, Mr. Ron Ellis, Mr. Chris Gobin and Mr. Mark Holmes. The trip was coordinated and chaperoned by Kimberly Douglas, School & Student Services Coordinator for the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center, in conjunction with Lisa Pfouts of Eagle Rock Tours of Fredericktown, Ohio.
